U.S., the same bank regulator for FinTech and traditional companies
As reported by Michelle Price and Pete Schroeder for Reuters news agency, in U.S.A. the federal bank regulator OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) first decided to accept national charter applications from FinTech companies. So these companies will be regulated like traditional ones.
The provision brings order into an unregulated sector, which forces investors to operate differently depending on the State.
The U.S. Treasury Department has given its approval to the OCC deliberation to stimulate the growth of small businesses and encourage new jobs thanks to the technological innovation.
