“Digital twin”: what is it and what is that it is made of?

The European Blockchain Observatory and Forum has published a report entitled “Tokenization of physical assets and the impact of IoT and AI”. Adrian Zmudzinski (Cointelegraph) explains that the author of the document (Dr. Tim Weingärtner, a professor at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences & Arts – School for Information Technology) has introduced the “digital twin” concept, which refers to a digital replica of the physical world. This “parallel universe” would be consist of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, big data, tokens, blockchain and Artificial Intelligence.
