Randy Bean in an article on Forbes interviews John Halamka, Chief Information Officer of the Harvard University Hospital “Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center” in Boston.
Halamka believes the Blockchain can transform the healthcare especially about medical records, consent management and micropayments.
The Blockchain ensures the integrity of the medical records, which can not be changed with and will become a pivotal proof in legal cases.
The technology can also be used in the record of the patient  consent in order to sharing of medical data.
This system would cross genetic, demographic, socioeconomic and behavioral data for prescriptions and treatments. It would also “reward” patients who respect the therapies.
