Autonomous vehicles will radically change the transport industry. Gerald Fenech on Forbes writes that the whole sector will be taken from the oligopoly by some global giants. Blockchain and smart contracts will increase trust among the Internet of Transportation players.
People who own vehicles or charging stations on the network are paid for the services they provide to other participants in the chain in a peer-to-peer system. In the future there will be a decentralized transportation infrastructure that will have built-in incentives for all the different participants: consumers, businesses, software developers, hardware makers, maintenance providers, insurers, and arbitrators.
